moreThe King Shaman is a dedicated 3D accelerator based on 3Dfx’s SST-1 architecture. SST-1 is 3Dfx’s code name for its debut Voodoo Graphics solution, commonly referred to as the Voodoo 1. This card has certain distinct features when compared to other original Voodoo cards. Most notably, the King Shaman incorporates two Voodoo Graphics chipsets on a single board.
Two onboard Voodoo Graphics (SST-1) chipsets are interconnected via SLI interface. Each of these chipsets consists of 1 FBI chip with 2MB and 2 TMUs with 4MB x 2 of RAM. Thus the overall amount of the onboard RAM is 20MB (10MB x 2). The maximum resolution is 800x600 pix.
Additionally the King Shaman card is equipped with an expansion connector for an optional video module and high-performance 3:1 VGA switch with source autodetection.
The card specs are maxed out when compared to basic original Voodoo cards being produced for the consumer market in 1996-1997. Only Quantum3D Obsidian 100DB (XS-100) and 100SB cards are peer with this card in terms of game apps performance among all original Voodoos.
